Have you ever watched the TV show “Shark Tank” and thought, “This could be me! I have an amazing idea for a product or service!”? If so, now’s your chance to shine! On April 26, 2018 the Hood College Department of Economics and Business Administration will team up with Spotluck to host the inaugural Hood College Pitch Competition, and they will need the support of all alumni near and far.
This platform allows current students and alumni to pitch their ideas in front of a network of judges, fellow entrepreneurs, prominent Frederick leaders, and alumni-founded business ventures. Cash prizes will be awarded but more so, this is a shot to get your idea in front of the people that can advance it to the next level.
Co-founder and CEO of Spotluck, Cherian Thomas MBA ’12, H ’17, is a graduate of Hood’s MBA program, and he was the Commencement speaker for the graduate school in the spring 2017. During his speech, Cherian encouraged students to find the right mentors and relationships as they begin their journey after Hood. Perhaps the Pitch Competition is the place for you to do the same.
For additional details, click here. Submissions for proposals can be submitted to PITCH@hood.edu and must be received by Jan. 15, 2018. Those who advance to the semifinals will be notified by Cherian. Spread the word, and get those ideas in!
